There are several ways the group admin can invite new members into the group.
Invite App Users
To invite existing users:
- Navigate to the group page.
- On the group dashboard header, tap Members. This opens the Group Members screen.
- In the search box, start typing the name of the person you want to invite.
- Tap on the cross-hair (+) symbol to the right of the person’s name.
- A pop-up will appear. Tap the OK button to confirm inviting the person.
- The person you invited into the group will receive an app notification. A new alert will be seen on their Notifications screen. Instruct them to tap on the Join button to confirm being added to the group.
Email Invite
You can invite someone who isn't app user yet using this person's email address.
- With the Group Members screen open, type an email address into the search field.
- Tap the email address in the blue bar to invite and confirm that you want to send an email invitation.
- The app will generate an invitation email. The subject line shows the group title and says this is an invitation on the app. The email message explains which group the recipient is being invited to join. The name of who sent the invitation is referenced. The instruction says to tap the Claim Account button or paste the link into a browser
The claim account is the same as signing up to create a profile with one difference – the recipient’s email address will be pre-populated on the first screen of the signup. This means the platform has already set aside the email address as a profile ID for the recipient. Completing the signup process will activate the account.
Group Link or Code
If you prefer, you can send invitees who are not yet on the app the group code or link which will allow signups using the app or desktop browser.
There are two ways to accept the invitation and sign up.
- Download the app. Then, use the group code to join.
- Open a web browser and use the group link.
