This article explains the process and user experience when a private group is set with approval required to join and members pay a subscription (known as subscription membership).
PROCESS
- A user submits a request to join.
- The group admin reviews and approves the request.
- The app sends a notification to the user.
- The user subscribes to become a member. Required information include email address, cell phone number, and CC/Debit card information.
- The user gains access to the group.
USER EXPERIENCE
All prospective members are either an existing app user or someone who just signed up on the app.
If the person is an existing app user, there is a Request to Join button on the group header to start the process. The button changes to Invite Pending. The group admin reviews the request. After the join request is approved, the user receives an app notification indicating the join request was approved. On the group header page, the user taps the Subscribe button to become a member. .
If the person is not an app user, then they will first signup using the group code or link. The button at the end of the signup steps will be "Register" instead of "Signup". A pop-up message appears saying, "Thank you for registering. We will contact you upon approval." After the join request is approved, the user receives an app notification showing the join request was approved. On the group header page, the user taps the Subscribe button to become a member.
